Guest lecture session on “Mushroom Cultivation and their Nutritional Value”
School of Agriculture Sciences, Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology was organized a Guest lecture session on “Mushroom Cultivation and their Nutritional Value” on 12 March 2025 . Dr. Rajneesh Thakur, an Assistant Professor at Mata Gujri College Fatehgarh Sahib (PUNJAB), was the event’s guest speaker. The lecture was attended by all of the SOAS faculty members and students. She discussed the Mushroom Cultivation and their Nutritional Value as well as their benefits for human health, mushrooms contain bioactive compounds, including for human heal antioxidants and beta-glucans, which support immune health and may help reduce the risk of chronic diseases. She also explained the various Nutritional values, Mushrooms are a powerhouse of nutrition and are often referred to as a “superfood.” They are rich in essential nutrients like proteins, vitamins (especially vitamin D, B-complex), minerals (such as potassium, selenium, and zinc), and dietary fiber. Students are also motivated and amazed by the lecture and discovering the amazing potential of mushrooms for sustainable food systems and improved human health. It was a very productive session.

The commitment was translated into reality with the establishment of School of Engineering & Emerging Technologies (SEET) at Baddi in the year 2002.
