About M.Sc. Chemistry

Chemistry is the branch of science concerned with the composition, properties, and reactions of substances. After M.Sc. Chemistry, skills gained by the student is to

(i) Gather and analyze relevant information from a wide variety of sources

(ii) Identify and propose solutions to problems

(iii) Work with others in the preparation and presentation of group work (group projects)

(iv) Work independently (individual projects).

Exploring the opportunities

The employment areas for the M.Sc. Chemistry graduates include pharmaceutical industries, chemical manufacturers, Forensic Science Department, plastic industries, agrochemical industries, etc. Apart from these, they are also recruited in other fields such as oil, gas and power sectors and even in defense services. Also, one could work as Assistant Professor/Lecture/PGT at University/College/School level and he/she could absorb as Junior Research Fellow, Research Assistant and Research Trainee in various CSIR labs and University. For higher studies they can do Ph.D. in CSIR labs/University.
