The Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology, Himachal Pradesh in collaboration with HP- PERC successfully organized ‘Vice Chancellors’ meet-2022’ on 25.02.2022 at Shivalik View Hotel, Chandigarh. The meeting started with the welcome of the Hon’ble Chairperson, HP-PERC, and other dignitaries.

Hon’ble Chairman HP-PERC, Major General Atul Kaushik SM, VSM (Retd.) shown his concern related to the progress of committees formed pertaining to the Centre of Excellence, Eco-Friendly Universities, Exam Reforms, Centralized Placement Cell, and Implementation of NEP.

Afterward, MOU between the Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology, Himachal Pradesh and Maharaja Agrasen University was signed for the spirit of friendship and with a mutual interest in cooperation.

Mr. James Raphael CEO of Retail Skill Council encouraged the implementation of the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP) in Retail Operations across Universities and emphasized many key benefits.

 

Mr. Ashish Jain, CEO of the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) presented the development of a quality eco-system for vocational education. He emphasized creating a robust and sustainable industry-aligned quality skilling eco-system for the healthcare sector to bridge the demand and supply gap through Skilling, Re-skilling, and Up-skilling. He also proposed Customized crash course programs for Covid-19 frontline workers and placement opportunities with all industry partners across India pertaining to Ayushman Bharat.

Wing Commander Rachit Bhatnagar, CEO Aviation Sector Skill Council delivered a presentation about its prominent Centre of Excellences & other initiatives and informed that AASSC has formulated various Job Roles cutting across the six sub-sectors of Aerospace Design, Aerospace Manufacturing, Airline Operations, Airport Operations, Aviation Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) & Drone Operations. He also apprised the VCs of various universities of HP state that by enforcing NEP’2020 and KARMA (Kaushal Augmentation & Restructuring Mission of AICTE) schemes of GoI, universities can start various skill development courses at their campus by utilizing their under-utilized infrastructure/ labs for Upskilling School/ college drop-outs or existing students undergoing various degree courses”.

Mr. Piyush Srivastava, CEO Internshape, presented the work domain of Intershape stating its key objective as imparting necessary skills to students and making them job-ready. He stated that “Intershape works in synergy with Industry and academia. We impart the skills to interns through 3 structured Intershape programs which helps them to be more employable”.

Mr. Atul Khosla VC Shoolini University concerning CII addressed all present and emphasized the academic-industry interface. He also stressed that universities should set up a Centre of excellence in the field of their expertise.

Mr. Harish Gandotra, Vice President, Tech Mahindra elaborated and emphasized on technology that can help Industries and Universities to come upon a single platform. He also apprised about creating an ecosystem in which information will be stored and utilized as per the demand from industries and relevant supply from institutions.

Mr. Deepak Gupta, Professor JAY PEE University gave a presentation on the Online Management system. He reported that they are working on an ERP system in which all the data pertaining to students/faculty attendance in all universities will be available and it will be regulated by the HPPERC. The application will be launched in the month of April-May.

Prof B.S Nagendra, Vice-Chancellor, Bahra University presented the progress report on various exam reforms evaluation techniques so that student learning value can be focused rather than grading.

Chairman HP-PERC, Major General Atul Kaushik SM, VSM (Retd) stated that follow-ups will be taken by him from different Committees regarding progress reports on Centre of Excellence, Eco-Friendly Universities, Exam Reforms, Centralized Placement Cell, and Implementation of NEP.

Chairman HP-PERC, Major General Atul Kaushik SM, VSM (Retd) stated that all the Committees need to report at Shimla along with the Progress report next month. A Mega Job Fair will be conducted by the end of March with the help of all the Universities in which Honourable CM Himachal Pradesh will also be present as Chief Guest.

Chairman HP-PERC, Major General Atul Kaushik SM, VSM (Retd) praised the Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology for the quality arrangement and organizing the Vice Chancellors’ Meet 2022.
