The circulation section/lending section remains open between 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM on all working days. On Saturday and evening hours only reading room remains open for the use of users. The present collection of the library is a 25712 volumes comprising of standard textbooks and reference books pertaining to various disciplines, as per curriculum. It also houses more than 1000 bound volumes of periodicals, besides back files of newspapers, previous year's question papers and content list of journals. More than 1500 CDs/DVDs/Floppies are also available in the library.

Document search service has been given to its user through OPAC platform. OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogue) helps in accessing the catalogue card with the help of computer. It provides complete information about books, its title, author, collaborators, pages, cost, year of publication and other bibliographical details.

This is a special feature of our Digital library. This is a database of research papers published in different journals being subscribed by university library. It gives the complete bibliographical detail along with the searching platform to the user.

Central library offers Inter Library Loan service to its users for Books, which are not available in the University library collection by processing them from others libraries. At present the collection of British Library Chandigarh can be accessed for the same.

Document procurement service is also available from NISCAIR, DELNET and from other document delivery service agencies, if the user is willing to bear the expenses involved.

The central library maintains a separate collection consisting of Dictionaries, Directories, Handbooks, Atlases, Bibliographies, CD ROMs and audio-cassettes. Reference books are marked "R" and reference copy are marked as "RC". It also contains books for competitive exams such as GATE, GRE, GMAT, IELTS, TOFEL etc.

The central library offers photocopying service to its members and visitors. Only single copy of journal articles and book chapter is provided for study purpose. The service is free to all staff members for official documents.

• The photocopying unit is available at Reading Room and its timings are:

Monday - Friday -10 AM – 12.30 PM And 2.30 PM - 4.00 PM.

All the faculty or staff members are required to fill in the prescribed form for photocopies of the documents for their official use. The form duly signed by their concern HOD should be submitted to the library. In case of students there is no need to fill in the form they can get document photocopies by paying relevant amount.

The CD ROMs received along with books, journals and conference proceedings are available in the reference section (reading room) and the facility can be availed from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on all working days. At present library has more than 1500 CDs/DVDs.

The main objective of the library is to provide necessary information to its clientele. To keep the users abreast of the latest development, library brings out different services in printed as well as in electronic form on monthly basis. This includes:

• Selective Dissemination of Information: Service which provides the selected information to the users based on his interest area.
• Information about newly added documents in the library
• Content Pages of journals being subscribed in library.
• Conference Alerts about the forthcoming conferences/seminars & workshops.

It displays the newspapers clipping of important/relevant articles published in the Newspaper on daily basis. This is divided into five categories. Clippings are available in print form as well as in electronic form. These are as under:

• Education.
• Personality Development.
• Miscellaneous

Providing latest information to its users is the primary responsibility of any modern library. To fulfill this responsibility the central library has made arrangement to provide Internet search access to its users. Library has connectivity with internet lab and providing wi-fi campus to its users.

Library has networking with campus. For accessing digital library it's available on Intranet of the institute. There are various services, which are provided to the users with the help of digital library. These are:

• Total collection of Books:Information regarding total collection of books in the library can easily be accessed. It also displays information about books according to the subject, title, author, accession number, call number etc. on computer.
• Total collection of C.D.: Total collection of CDs. available in the library can be accessed on the Institute website or library computer. The collection is continuously being updated.
• Library rules: Library Rules are displayed in Digital Library for ready reference of users.
• OPAC System: OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogue) helps in accessing the catalogue card with the help of computer. It provides complete information about books, its title, author, collaborators, pages, cost, year of publication and other bibliographical details.
• Bibliographical Detail of books: This is a main service, provides by the digital library. It gives complete information regarding the bibliographical detail with the contents and page number of the book. It also includes the information about author, collaborators, edition, with "see also"
• Arrangement of Books: It helps to familiarize with the arrangement of books/documents in the library and to locate the same.
• List of Defaulters: The defaulters are required to pay fine against the late return of books and their list can be viewed on any computer system of the Institutes.
• Record of Periodicals: A complete record of periodicals displayed through Digital Library includes the receiving date, volume number, issue number and availability of periodicals in library.
• Record of Newspapers: - The day-by-day record of newspapers also available in digital library, so that one can get information about the library collection of newspapers without wasting the time.
• Abstracting/Indexing of Articles of Periodicals: - Special feature of our digital library is to generate database of articles by indexing of journals of its own collection and to include the summary of the articles of periodicals that can be searched by topic or keyword.
