About Department
Ever increasing pace of development in electronics, audio and video communications systems and the automation industry has made an electronics engineer, a catalyst for the change of the modern society. The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was set up in the year 2002 with the objective to address the growing requirements of the country in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The department has a history of over 9 years with proud and accomplished alumni, students and faculty.

Department is equipped with latest software and hardware required to build upon the theoretical knowledge inculcated through the rigorous curriculum. For imparting practical knowledge, the department has state-of-the-art laboratories.

SOFTWARES USED IN LABS
  • MATLAB
    MATLAB is used for digital signal processing, neural network and fuzzy logic based applications, communication system design and simulation and to view the characteristic wave form of image and voice signals.
  • MULTISM
    MULTISIM is used in electronics circuit design and simulation. This is an electronic schematic capture and simulation program which is part of a suite of circuit design programs.
  • XILINX
    VHDL LAB consists of VHDL compilers, which build executable binaries. This LAB is equipped with XILINX FPGA kits, interfaces, pattern generator, logic analyzer and VHDL software set up.

Prof. Pamela Chawla has over 28 years of teaching and industrial experience in various Engineering institutes and Electronics industries of this region. She started her career after graduating in Electronics and Communication Engineering from University of Roorkee (Now I.I.T) in the year of 1983.Thereafter she obtained her P.G.D.M from IGNOU and M.E Degree in Electronics & Electrical Communication in 1996 from Panjab University, Chandigarh. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Electronics & Communication Engineering from PEC University of Technology. She has been associated with this Institute since 2003.She is working as Assoc. Professor and Head of ECE Department and is also holding additional charge of Dean Academics & Students Welfare of the university

   Course: M.Tech - Electronics and Communication
   Duration: 3 years (modular)
   Eligibility: B.Tech (ECE/EEE/E&IE/Telecom Engg) or equivalent from a recognized university.
   Selection: Based on the merit/percentile score in GATE. Vacant seats if any will be filled on the basis of merit as determined by marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
   Intake: 30

RESEARCH LABORATORIES
The Department is engaged in basic research, industry-oriented development, and socially relevant projects. Reflecting the vision of the Department, the faculty is engaged in research in various areas in the following labs.
  • LabVIEW:
    LabVIEW is a powerful graphical programming environment used by millions of engineers and scientists to develop sophisticated measurement, test, and control systems using intuitive graphical icons and wires that resemble a flowchart. It offers unrivaled integration with thousands of hardware devices like NI ELVIS and DAQ cards.
  • Embedded System:
    Embedded System Lab is equipped with 8051, ARM, PIC Microcontroller kits with accessories to facilitate experiments on interfacing and hardware. Customized kits are also made available that will suit the requirements of the course.
  • Wireless Communication:
    This laboratory encompasses number of techniques including underwater acoustic communication, semaphores, smoke signals, radio communication, and satellite communication, among others. This laboratory takes an experimental approach to wireless digital communication. Theory in the classroom is translated directly into practice with the help of Lab Kits for Wi-Fi Networks, wireless security along with software like NS2, Opnet, etc.
  • Digital System Design Lab:
