Anti Ragging
Ragging is totally prohibited as per:
(i) the decision of the Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition No. © 656/1998, (ii) the directive of Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development vide its Order No. 10-2/99-Desk (U.I.) Dated: 31st August, 2004. Ragging in any form within or outside the Institutes is strictly banned. Ragging is a punishable offence under Law. Very strict action shall be taken against any student indulging in ragging of Freshers, as per provisions of Prohibition of Ragging Act 2009 promulgated by Govt. of Himachal Pradesh. A. Expulsion from Institute and no admission for three years in any other Institute. B. Imprisonment upto three years or Rs. Fifty thousand fine or both. Any student not disclosing his/her involvement in previous case of ragging at the time of admission shall attract the provisions of Prohibition of Ragging Act as and when it comes to light.
